TERRE HAUTE – Ivy Tech Community College’s Terre Haute campus proudly celebrated the accomplishments of 39 students who have completed the rigorous requirements of its Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) program at the campus’s annual Pinning Ceremony, a cherished tradition honoring nursing graduates.
The Pinning Ceremony is a time-honored ritual in nursing education that symbolizes the transition from student to professional nurse. Family, friends, and faculty gathered to honor the graduates for their dedication, perseverance, and commitment to excellence in patient care.
“Nursing school tested me — my strength, my confidence, and my mind,” said Kristina Rapp, an Ivy Tech nursing student. “This ceremony is not just about receiving a pin. It symbolizes the battles I fought, the growth I earned, and the nurse I am becoming. I am proud of how far I have come and excited for the life of care and compassion ahead of me. I feel confident in the skills and knowledge Ivy Tech has instilled in me, and I am ready to step into my role as a nurse.”
Ivy Tech nursing Dean Kim Cooper praised the graduates for their achievement and the program’s demanding curriculum. “The nursing program at Ivy Tech Terre Haute is rigorous by design, preparing students to excel in every aspect of healthcare,” Cooper said. “Our graduates consistently achieve impressive NCLEX pass rates, demonstrating the high-quality education and clinical preparation they receive.”
The ceremony featured the traditional pinning, a symbolic gesture signifying each graduate’s readiness to enter the nursing profession. The event not only recognizes academic achievement but also the professional responsibility and dedication expected of nurses.
