TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - Ivy Tech Community College Terre Haute and the Vigo County School Corporation (VCSC) recently celebrated the successful completion of TechQuest, a new week-long summer camp designed to introduce rising 8th-grade students to high-demand career pathways. The program, held June 23–27, was made possible through generous support from the Vigo County Education Foundation.

TechQuest gave students hands-on exposure to fields including robotics, machine tool technology, welding, diesel and automotive technologies, electronics, healthcare, precision agriculture, and computer science. The camp was offered at no cost to students, with transportation and lunch provided each day, ensuring access for all participants.

“TechQuest showcases Ivy Tech’s commitment to providing early and meaningful career exploration opportunities,” said Molly Joseph, dean of Advanced Manufacturing, Engineering, and Applied Science at Ivy Tech Terre Haute. “It was inspiring to see students so engaged with hands-on learning.”

TechQuest was developed in partnership with Vigo County School Corporation’s New & Emerging Automation Technology (NEAT) Experience. The 2025 camp expanded the format into a full week of immersive learning, offering exposure to Ivy Tech’s state-of-the-art labs and local career pathways.

Chris Himsel, Ph.D., superintendent of Vigo County School Corporation, added, “TechQuest gave our students the chance to explore careers in a way that was both exciting and educational. Thanks to the partnership with Ivy Tech and the support of the Vigo County Education Foundation, our middle schoolers left this camp more confident, informed, and inspired about their futures.”
