TERRE HAUTE – Ivy Tech Community College celebrated another successful year of student support with its 25th Annual Scholarship Scramble, held on May 16, 2025, at Idle Creek Golf Course. This fundraising event, presented by First Financial Bank, brings together community leaders, local businesses, and loyal Ivy Tech supporters to raise critical funds for student scholarships at Ivy Tech Terre Haute and Greencastle.
A major highlight of the day was the $15,000 title sponsorship, presented by First Financial Bank, to the Ivy Tech Foundation. As a 25-year title sponsor and strong supporter of higher education, First Financial Bank established the Students First Scholarship. As part of their sponsorship, 10 first-generation college students will receive a $1,000 scholarship for the 2025-26 academic year.
“At First Financial Bank, we believe education is one of the most powerful tools for strengthening our communities,” said Norman D. Lowery, president and CEO, First Financial Bank. “Our continued support of Ivy Tech’s students, especially those who are the first in their families to attend college, reflects our commitment to opening doors and helping build a brighter future for West Central Indiana."
Nearly 30 teams participated in the event, enjoying not only golf, but additional perks like a round of Blackjack, a free putt opportunity with Chancellor Lea Anne Crooks, and a shot at a hole-in-one to win a car, courtesy of Terre Haute Chevrolet (no golfers achieved a hole-in-one). The results of the outing were:
