Academy of Chaos Founder Jean Lee and Ivy Tech Community College Indianapolis are partnering to host the 2026 Midwest Homeschool Expo (MHE) on Saturday, June 13, at Ivy Tech Indianapolis’ Conference Center & Culinary Institute, 2820 N. Meridian St.

The one-day event brings together homeschool families, educators, and alternative learning advocates for an intensive day of practical guidance, lived experience, and community connection. While this year’s Midwest Homeschool Expo adopts a condensed, presenter-focused format, organizers say its mission remains unchanged: helping families feel supported and equipped in their educational journey.

This year is focused on the original heartbeat of MHE. When I started the Expo in 2024, I had one goal — to be the friend I needed seven years ago. We are here to build a village, provide scaffolding for those who feel overwhelmed, and offer the kind of support that keeps families going.

– Jean Lee, Founder of Academy of Chaos and the Midwest Homeschool Expo

The 2026 Expo features two simultaneous presentation tracks showcasing some of the most highly attended topics and speakers from previous years. Organizers describe the experience as a “fast and furious” homeschool bootcamp designed to deliver clarity, practical insight, and encouragement through shared experience.

In addition to educational programming, the partnership between Ivy Tech Indianapolis and the Academy of Chaos marks an important investment in student success through the creation of a scholarship fund tied to event participation. Proceeds from ticket purchases will directly support future college tuition assistance, creating a measurable benefit for local students and families.

The support scholarship effort reflects a broader recognition of homeschooling as a viable and increasingly mainstream educational pathway. Colleges and universities, including Ball State, Indiana University, and Purdue University, have previously participated in Midwest Homeschool Expo programming and outreach efforts, reinforcing growing institutional support for homeschool learners and alternative education models.

We are excited to welcome homeschool families to Ivy Tech Indianapolis. Education looks different for every learner, and events like the Midwest Homeschool Expo create opportunities for families to access resources, build confidence, and see the many pathways available to student success and higher education.

– Dr. Andrew Buckle, Executive Director of K-14

The Midwest Homeschool Expo promotes inclusion, school choice, and respect for diverse learning methods, with particular emphasis on supporting unique and neurodivergent learners.

This year’s event is in a condensed format; no youth workshops or event extensions will be offered as in previous years. However, organizers note that the full conference model may return in future years.

Attendees should plan for a full day of programming with limited downtime and are encouraged to bring lunch, as on-site food service will not be available.

While conference registration ($25.50) is required for all-day presentation access, the Expo Hall portion of the event is free and open to the public. And, all ticket sales go towards college support scholarships for homeschoolers!
