The halls of Ivy Tech Indianapolis were filled with an electric mix of pride, joy, and a few happy tears as we celebrated our latest cohort of nursing graduates at the August nurse pinning ceremony.

A pinning ceremony is a time-honored nursing tradition rich in symbolism, welcoming new graduates into the profession. It is a distinct and deeply personal rite of passage separate from commencement. During the ceremony, each student receives the Ivy Tech nursing pin—a symbol of their hard work, dedication, and readiness to provide compassionate, skilled care. The pinning culminates in the recitation of the Nightingale Pledge, a moment where our graduates collectively affirm their commitment to the ethical and professional values of nursing.

Our August ceremony honored the incredible journey of these students. They have balanced rigorous coursework, clinical hours, and personal responsibilities with unwavering determination. This celebration is a testament to their readiness to join the front lines of healthcare. We are incredibly proud of each graduate and look forward to seeing the remarkable impact they will have on the lives of patients and our community.
