Alhuda Islamic Center Continues 14-Year Tradition of Supporting Ivy Tech Indy Students

For the 14th year in a row, the Al Huda Islamic Center in Fishers made a meaningful impact on Ivy Tech Indianapolis students by donating 30 full Thanksgiving baskets to IvyCares. Each basket was packed with canned goods, baked items, and a turkey gift card—an increase in support from previous years.

Their generosity, paired with 30 additional turkeys secured by IvyCares through Gleaners Food Bank, ensured dozens of Ivy Tech students had what they needed to prepare a holiday meal for themselves and their families.

Alhuda delivered all 30 baskets to campus on Friday, November 21. IvyCares staff stored them over the weekend and distributed them to students on Monday, November 24, and Tuesday, November 25, just in time for Thanksgiving.

“This partnership isn’t just tradition—it's community. Support like this helps our students push through tough seasons and stay focused on their goals.”

– Mary Louise Edwards, Director of IvyCares Indianapolis

IvyCares extends its deepest gratitude to the Alhuda Islamic Center for its long-standing commitment to helping Ivy Tech students thrive—and is already looking forward to continuing this impactful tradition next year.
