Ivy Tech Community College Bloomington offers free training programs paid for by the state’s Next Level Jobs (NLJ) Workforce Ready Grant. The grant covers the cost of tuition for students who qualify, and training leads to jobs in high-demand industries in Indiana. Anyone with interest is invited to attend an information session on Tuesday, October 28 at 6 p.m. in room C221 or virtually.
Requirements to qualify for NLJ free training are not income-based. Tuition costs are covered for students who meet the following requirements: must be an Indiana resident, have a high school diploma or high school equivalency, have not previously earned a Next Level Jobs-eligible certification, have not earned a college degree, and file a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Free certificate programs at Ivy Tech help students who have not earned college credentials train for a high-wage, high-demand job and increase their career opportunities in:
· Advanced Manufacturing
· Building and Construction
· Education and Public Affairs & Services
· Nursing & Healthcare
· Information Technology and Business
· Transportation and Logistics
Newly added this year is the short-term Entrepreneurship certificate. The program has helped numerous local residents launch and grow their businesses.
