Nancy Walters, School of Public Affairs & Social Services

My time at Ivy Tech has been truly impactful. I’ve learned more than I ever expected through both classroom lessons and training in the field. What stands out most is the constant support and motivation from staff and peers to be the best student and social worker I can be. As I move forward, I’ll always look back on my Ivy Tech experience with pride, using it as a reminder to keep learning and never give up on my dreams.

Jon Simmons, School of Advanced Manufacturing, Engineering, and Applied Science

I appreciate the structured educational path that Ivy Tech’s Advanced Manufacturing provides. In particular, I value the challenging academic learning and SACA preparations combined with the “hands on” lab work, as well as the instructor’s anecdotes from their field experiences. Likewise, the faculty and staff, have made this a great experience.

Kenneth Peters, School of Information Technology

Ivy Tech helped me transition from a career in retail and food service to pursuing an education in data analytics. The partnerships that Ivy Tech has with other institutions allowed me to transfer seamlessly to Purdue Global to further my studies. During my time at Ivy Tech, my family faced difficult circumstances, and I was grateful for Professor Cynthia Carlson and Vice Chancellor Levi Lawson. They provided me with the resources I needed through Ivy Cares to continue my education during these challenges.

Brittany Saxon, School of Business

Through the School of Business program, I was able to earn both a Certificate and Technical Certificate in Business Administration—giving me the opportunity to celebrate and showcase milestones on the path to my degree. Ivy Tech’s partnership with the State of Indiana through the AYD Program made the process of education reimbursement seamless, allowing me to stay focused on academic goals. I’m especially grateful for Chancellor Dr. Mia Johnson, whose unwavering commitment to student success has had a lasting impact on my experience at the Anderson Campus. Ivy Tech has provided me with the tools, support, and confidence to grow both personally and professionally, and I am honored to have been named the 2024 Outstanding Student for the School of Business.

Katherine Jones, School of Art, Sciences, and Education

I really appreciate the support I receive from my professors; they have all made me feel as if I’m not just another student and I appreciate all the things they taught me. I really love the Ivy Tech community and the support within it. Ivy Tech Community College has given me the opportunity to gain my degree, while also working two jobs, being a wife, and a mother.

Kaitlyn Crowley, School of Nursing

My time at Ivy Tech allowed me to grow not only professionally, but personally and socially. I learned both nursing skills and compassion from my professors and fellow students as we went through our clinical process. I will forever be grateful for such an amazing program, and I am proud to be a nurse today because of being there. I most appreciated the ability to be hands-on in my learning. I now work in the NICU at Community North, and I wear my nursing pin from Ivy Tech proudly on my badge.

Amanda Rowell, School of Health Sciences

Ivy Tech and the dental hygiene program gave me the opportunity to discover my passion. I’m grateful to my instructors for guiding and encouraging me along the way. I’m also thankful for the wonderful group of ladies with whom I shared this journey. Without them, I wouldn’t have made it to the end.

Ivy Tech Community College has given me the opportunity to gain my degree, while also working two jobs, being a wife, and a mother.
