Partnership for Animal Welfare

A Vision for the Future

THE TERRE HAUTE HUMANE SHELTER IS IN URGENT NEED OF A NEW HOME. In late 2012, the Terre Haute Humane Society and Ivy Tech Community College Wabash Valley formed a partnership to support Animal Welfare and a fundraising effort to establish a new facility for the Terre Haute Humane Shelter. Tremendous support for the partnership has resulted in more funds being raised for the Terre Haute Humane Shelter than at any other time in its 101-year history.

On November 21, 2014, Ivy Tech Community College and the Terre Haute Humane Society shared an accelerated plan and introduced the community to a $1.5 million fundraising goal. Because of the generosity of many citizens, corporations, not-for-profits, city and county governments, and foundations about 75% of the funds needed have been contributed or pledged. To date (February 19, 2015), $1,125,000 of the $1,500,000 has been raised.
