Adult Basic Education and High School Equivalency Preparation is Now Available at Ivy Tech Community College in Evansville at no cost to you!

Enrollment Opens August 1 and the FREE CLASSES Start Aug. 24.



High School Equivalency

Test preparation through Tests of Adult Basic Education (TABE) The student must need skill development or remediation or both in one or more of the following as determined by an initial assessment:

  • English
  • Math
  • Reading

Pre-Assessment – Study in instructor led class – Post Assessment -- $0 Cost

High School Equivalency Requirements:

  • Anyone living in Indiana for a minimum of 30 days before taking the test.
  • Those not currently enrolled nor already earned a diploma from an accredited high school in the US.
  • Must be at least 16 years old.

Adult Education Requirements:

  • At Least 18 years old,
  • Between 16 and 18 years old if a principal signs the students exit form.

Test Assessing Secondary Completion (TASC)

High School Equivalency Exam over 5 sections

  • Language Arts
  • Math
  • Science
  • Social Studies
  • Writing
