General purpose and scope of the position
Help students to learn subject matter which will lead toward fulfillment of their potential intellectual, emotional, and psychological growth. Provide instruction needed for students to qualify for certification in the respective fields. The logistics course provides students with the foundational and mid-level knowledge they will need to understand the world of supply chain and related core competencies.

This is a full-time, year-round (in-person) teaching position located at the Westville Correctional Facility.
Major Responsibilities
- Teach assigned classes in keeping with approved syllabi, outlines, and instructional materials
- Understand and follow all special education laws and guidelines. Provide accommodations as outlined in an Individual Education Plan for students with identified exceptionalities.
- Approach subject matter in a positive and enthusiastic manner.
- Begin and end classes on time according to IDOC, Correctional Facility and Ivy Tech schedules.
- Provide guidance and counsel to the students which will promote their welfare and their proper educational development.
- Provide education services utilizing the materials and equipment required in the curriculum from the Certifying Agency
- Maintain records as required by the Indiana Department of Correction (IDOC), the Correctional Facility, Ivy Tech and the Certifying Agency.
- Assess student learning according to Indiana Workforce Development Educational Functioning Level Assessment Policy, DWD Policy
- Maintain records as required by the Indiana Department of Correction, the Correctional Facility and Ivy Tech Community College
- Record student data in a Department of Workforce Development data base for National Reporting Purposes
- Establish and maintain cooperative professional relationships with students, peers, and community leaders.
- Provide for the care and protection of Ivy Tech and Facility property.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Relevant and documented work experience in the vocational field.
- Already hold or agree to obtain facility-provided training for certifications as follows: CLA-CLT Instructor Certification for Logistics Program. OR possess a valid Indiana Teacher’s License.
Pay and Benefit Information:
- pay range of $48,000-$55,000 annually - depending on qualifications
