Budget & Grants Analyst

Ivy Tech seeks a Budget & Grants Analyst to join the business office at our Evansville, IN campus. This role supports campus financial operations, ensures procurement and grant compliance, and partners with departments to maintain accurate and transparent budgets. This position reports to the Vice Chancellor of Administration, works closely with the Business Office Manager, and serves as the finance grant designee for the Evansville Campus.Major Responsibilities:    

·        Ensure proper classification of procurement transactions and coordinate necessary adjustments with departments.

·        Assist with preparing monthly financial reports and distributing monthly reports to department managers.

·        Assist with the development of the campus’s annual budget and support staff in preparing budgets and budget justifications for new proposals.

·        Serve as the campus lead for compliance on purchasing, travel expenses, employee expense reports, and grants.

·        Assist with training new and existing employees on procurement policies and systems.

·        Serve as a purchasing card administrator for the campus

·        Review contracts for accuracy and ensure the contracts are entered into the College’s Contract Management System.

·        Prepare daily bank deposits and assist with the monthly cash and cash clearing account reconciliations.

·        Maintain gift and grant funds by tracking appropriate expenses, submitting invoices and processing checks to and from the foundation, notifying leadership of any issues.

·        Train project directors on reading and interpreting budgets in the finance system.

·        Provide guidance on financial grant management to project directors.

·        Collaborate with the College’s Sponsored Programs (Grants) office on grant requirements, budget approvals, and post award compliance expectations.

·        Learn and apply grant workflows within the College’s finance system, including routing, approvals, and post award monitoring.

Hiring Range:

  • This role is budgeted between $45,000 and $55,000 per year.

Work Hours:  

  • Typical business work hours, may be adjusted during peak times.

Minimum Qualifications:

·        Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or 4-6 years of related experience

·        This is an in-person position with the potential for limited hybrid flexibility after successful onboarding.


Preferred Qualifications:

·        Previous experience in a higher education institution or nonprofit organization.

Data Analyst Intern

GENERAL PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF THE POSITION:

The Data Analysis Intern will have the opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in data analysis and data governance within a fast-paced, collaborative work environment. Working alongside the Business Intelligence team, the intern will support reports and dashboards, respond to support requests, contribute to analytics projects, and assist with data governance initiatives. This role provides exposure to SQL, Snowflake, Tableau, and modern data management practices.

This is a hybrid position, with in-office expectations on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays. Some flexibility for remote work is available.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Interpret data findings and present insights in a clear and concise manner through visualizations and reports using Tableau.

  • Work closely with the Business Intelligence team to clean and process large datasets within the college’s Snowflake data warehouse using SQL, supporting data-informed decision making.

  • Enhance data governance, including the data catalog and lineage, by collaborating with business stakeholders.

Federal Work Study: Controller Team Intern

This position will support various aspects of the Systems Office Controller team, including fixed assets, tax reporting, financial reporting, grant reporting, and project reporting. This internship provides an opportunity to gain experience in governmental accounting and auditing while supporting success of the College’s educational mission.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as Cost Center Business Asset Tracking Specialist for Systems Office

The Vice President is responsible for supporting the statewide Schools of Nursing, Health Sciences, Public Affairs, and Social Services and for providing professional leadership as the subject-matter expert on workforce alignment/development initiatives in the respective sector(s) to foster relevance, quality, and consistency across academic courses, skills training, and other programming.

The Vice President collaborates with System, Campus, and Foundation Leadership, and applicable Ivy Tech Deans and Curriculum Committees to ensure the College provides the level of programs, services, and credentials appropriate for the communities and service regions it serves.

The Vice President uses labor market data, voice-of-the-customer insights, and knowledge of evolving national and state-level trends within the supported sector(s) to develop strategies and execute plans for the school(s). The Vice President cultivates, stewards, and represents the College in establishing relationships and strategic partnerships with employers, professional organizations, and associations to achieve the College’s mission.
