Ivy Tech Evansville is searching for high-quality adjunct faculty in the Office Administration and Technology program. Ideal candidates will have real-world experience in business and an applicable master’s degree.

Students in the Ivy in Office Administration and Technology program will not only learn about business but will be put directly in real-life scenarios and actual business situations to gain valuable job skills through a quality education.

Adjunct Faculty positions are temporary, part-time positions hired each semester on an as-needed basis. The adjunct faculty member will be responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided by the School.

Program Operation:

  • Perform all instructional duties necessary to teach and facilitate student learning in assigned classes.
  • Provide syllabus appropriate to course(s) being taught to students and follows syllabus content and requirements.
  • Maintain student attendance and grading records according to College policy as outlined in the Adjunct Handbook.
  • Submits requested information within established timelines.

Students:

  • Is available to students outside scheduled class time to answer questions/provide assistance.
  • Address student concerns promptly and, if necessary, consult with the program coordinator to resolve issues.

Instruction:

  • Meet all scheduled classes of contracted course(s).
  • Use technology such as Canvas, PowerPoint, and other tools as appropriate.
  • In event of emergency absence, notifies program/department chair.
  • Conduct all activities with an appreciation and respect for diversity of people, styles, and views.
  • Promote same as an integral part of one's work.

Hiring Range:

  • $45.00 per contact hour (approximately $2,160 per 8-week course).

Work Hours:  

  • Adjunct Faculty positions typically begin at the start of semesters or the midpoint: January, March, August, or October.. Specific hours will depend on classes assigned but may include evenings.

Minimum Qualifications:

A qualified faculty member in Office Administration and Technology meets the program standard through one of four routes:

  • Possesses an earned master’s or higher degree in a business or computer-related discipline, as appropriate to the program; or

Possesses a related or out-of-field master’s degree with documented 18 post-secondary semester hours or equivalent of courses in business or computer-related discipline as appropriate to the program; or

  • Possesses an earned related or out-of-field master’s degree, with documentation in two or more of the following:
  • Professional certification (national, regional or state)
  • Two years of in-field professional employment
  • Documented evidence of teaching excellence
  • Documentation of research and publication in the field
  • Documented relevant additional coursework beyond the bachelor’s degree, equivalent to 18 semester hours or equivalent subject matter coursework, CEU’s, vendor, or military; or
  • Possesses an earned bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in a business or computer-related discipline appropriate to the program, with documentation in two or more of the following:
  • Professional certification (national, regional or state), or
  • Two years of in-field professional employment, or
  • Documented evidence of teaching excellence, or
  • Documentation of research and publication in field, or
  • Documented relevant additional coursework beyond the bachelor’s degree, equivalent to 18 semester hours or equivalent matter coursework, CEU’s, vendor or military

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience providing instruction at a post-secondary institute.   
  • Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certification, particularly in Excel

Advising Administrative Assistant

The Administrative Assistant for the Academic Advising Center provides front-line support to students, faculty, and staff by managing inquiries, triaging student concerns, scheduling advising appointments, and connecting individuals with appropriate resources. This role also supports the daily operations of the advising center through calendar management, student record coordination, and collaboration with campus academic and student affairs staff to ensure efficient, student-centered services. This is an in person role based on the Evansville campus.Essential Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate closely with the Director of the Academic Advising Center to support departmental initiatives, operations, and continuous improvement efforts within the Academic Advising Center.

  • Provide front-line support as the initial point of contact for students, faculty, and staff by responding to phone, email, and in-person inquiries, triaging questions, and connecting individuals with appropriate resources and support services in a professional and welcoming manner.

  • Greet visitors and students, clarify and answer general questions, and/or enter students into queuing system (IVY Q) to be seen by an Academic Advisor.

  • Schedule advising appointments utilizing Ivy Connect (Salesforce), review student records in the Banner Student Information System, and manage advisor calendars to ensure efficient coordination of student services.

  • Maintain and update advising caseloads by utilizing the institutional data warehouse to ensure accurate student/advisor assignments.

  • Collaborate with campus administrative assistants to coordinate smooth handoffs of students to faculty advisors, ensuring timely and accurate support.

The Electric Lineman Adjunct Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality classroom and hands-on instruction that prepares students for careers as electric lineworkers. This role emphasizes safety, industry standards, and practical skill development aligned with utility and electrical industry needs. The Electric Line Academy is an intensive skills-based training program designed to prepare participants for entry-level employment in the electric utility industry. The program emphasizes safety, hands-on technical skills, and workforce readiness through a structured progression from foundational safety training to core line worker competencies and advanced field operations. Upon completion, participants are equipped with practical experience, industry-recognized certifications, and job readiness skills aligned with employer expectations. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Teach electric line coursework, including overhead and underground distribution, transmission basics, and equipment operation 

  • Deliver hands-on training in pole climbing, rigging, framing, transformer installation, grounding, and related skills 

  • Enforce OSHA and utility safety standards at all times 

  • Develop, update, and maintain lesson plans, labs, and assessments aligned with program and accreditation requirements 

  • Evaluate student performance and provide constructive feedback 

  • Maintain training equipment, tools, and lab environments in safe working condition

Adjunct Faculty positions are temporary, part-time positions hired each semester on an as-needed basis. The adjunct faculty member will be responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals; and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided by the School.General Description of Position: 

Adjunct faculty in our Nursing School teach the next generation of nurses in the vital work they do and provide instruction (classes, labs, & clinicals) within the program. They assist academic administrators with curriculum development, student advising, program enrollment; provide institutional support and community service. Fully supports the College's mission and strategic plan initiatives.

With a passion for patients and for teaching, our Registered Nurse faculty provide the real work experience that allow Ivy Tech to be the largest provider of associates-level nurses in the nation. Major Responsibilities:Instruction:
  • Deliver assigned classes in accordance with college loading policy and course objectives.
