Ivy Tech Bloomington is looking for an individual to join their team as Adjunct Faculty for American Heart Association (AHA) CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) training programs through the Ivy+ Career Link office. This position will provide instruction for non-credit CPR/AHA courses delivered on campus and is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on teaching and helping learners build critical emergency response skills.

Working Hours: Class schedules will vary based on program need. Courses will be held on campus, and specific days/times will be determined based on demand and instructor availability.

Compensation: Adjuncts are paid $50 per contact hour (hours with students).

General Purpose and Scope of the Position:

Ivy+ Career Link adjuncts are hired each term on an as-needed basis to instruct specific Skills Training programs. Ivy+ Career Link adjuncts are responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals and for providing effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi and course objectives provided.

This position will oversee classroom instruction for American Heart Association (AHA) CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) training programs delivered through Ivy Tech Community College’s Career Link office.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Facilitates student learning by delivering assigned CPR/AHA courses in accordance with American Heart Association standards, course objectives, and College policies.
  • Makes optimal use of available technology and instructional tools to enhance training and support a variety of learning styles.
  • Develops and maintains course outlines, lesson plans, training materials, and instructional resources as required by American Heart Association guidelines.
  • Maintains accurate student records, course documentation, and certification paperwork as required by the College and American Heart Association.
  • Engages with students in meaningful and productive ways that impact student learning and contribute to a positive training experience with Ivy Tech Community College.
  • Demonstrates the use of active teaching strategies and hands-on training methods to ensure students successfully demonstrate required CPR and emergency response skills.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must hold a current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor certification.

  • Ability to effectively instruct adult learners in both classroom and skills-based training environments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience teaching CPR, First Aid, BLS, or other emergency response courses.

Microelectronics Instructor

This faculty member will support teaching dual enrollment (high school) courses, skills based courses, summer camp courses in addition to the possibility of teaching traditional college courses. Faculty member must be willing to teach at the Bloomington campus, the Westgate location, and occasionally at additional sites within the Ivy Tech Bloomington service region.

This position is funded through December 2027, with the potential for additional funding commitments to follow.

Salary: $60,000 for a 9 month faculty contract (Aug-May) with the potential for a summer contract (Jun-Aug)

POSITION PURPOSE: Provide quality and engaging instruction in all delivery methods and formats within specific academic programs; provide timely and meaningful feedback to students regarding the mastery of course and program learning outcomes; engage students outside of class in support of the curriculum and co-curriculum; provide institutional support and community service; participate meaningfully in student retention and completion initiatives; support the College’s mission and strategic plan initiatives; conform to campus expectations of faculty performance and engagement.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

I. INSTRUCTION

  • Deliver assigned classes using pedagogy and technology that best support student learning, and in accordance with college loading policy, course objectives and program learning outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain curriculum and supporting course materials in keeping with and furtherance of course objectives and program learning outcomes.
  • Maintain student records, attendance, grades, and other documentation as required. Manage a classroom environment conducive to student learning and in adherence to federal, state, and college safety standards and practices.
  • Facilitate student achievement of expected program learning outcomes.
  • Use Learning Management System (e.g., Blackboard) to facilitate teaching, learning, assessment and communication.

II. RETENTION AND STUDENT SUCCESS

  • Provide academic-related coaching and academic monitoring to assigned student advisees in partnership with professional academic advising staff.
  • Monitor and document student performance throughout the semester, including use of technology for academic advising alerts; provide necessary interventions to include communication with students, tutoring and other academic supports, and referrals to appropriate college resources.

III. PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

  • Participate in professional development activities that may include scheduled training, time spent onsite in related business and industries, and self-study to advance instructional and technical skills as well as current knowledge within the field of study.
  • Participate in scholarly activities related to the discipline/focus, in fulfillment of annual performance plans, and as required for certification and licensure.

IV. COMMUNITY RELATIONS AND BUSINESS OUTREACH

  • Participate in community service activities on behalf of the college to advance the college’s relationships within its service area as appropriate for department/division/college.

V. INSTITUTIONAL SUPPORT

  • Provide institutional support as requested by college administration such as participation on committees and task forces, projects related to college and program accreditations, and grant-related projects.

A qualified faculty member meets all three of the following:

  • Possesses an earned baccalaureate or higher degree from a regionally accredited institution in technology, engineering technology, engineering, or computer science; and
  • Completed academic preparation appropriate to the semiconductor program, and

  • Two years of directly related work experience in Semiconductor field.

Program Manager - Microelectronics Support

Ivy Tech Community College is seeking a student-focused, mission-driven Program Manager to lead the development and delivery of workforce-aligned training programs, including the Microelectronics training and customized career readiness initiatives. This position will oversee programming designed to support business, industry, and underserved learner populations. The Program Manager will ensure operational excellence, student success, and employer satisfaction while maintaining compliance with college and grant standards.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:


Program Management & Coordination

  • Lead development and execution of the Microelectronics training initiative, a workforce-aligned training program for careers in semiconductor fabrication and related tech fields.
  • Coordinate facilities, materials, and instructor assignments for all program sites.
  • Maintain up-to-date project budgets and assist with financial processing (invoicing, billing, vouchers).
