Accounts Receivable Clerk

GENERAL PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF THE POSITION: This position is responsible for managing deposits, logging daily transactions, and processing student tuition payments and refunds. Additionally, it involves overseeing third-party accounts and providing comprehensive support for finance-related inquiries and issues.

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serves as the first contact with students, faculty, and staff regarding bursar questions and issues.
  • Managing inbound communications by efficiently handling phone calls and emails to ensure timely and accurate responses to inquiries and requests.
  • Responsible for all cashier-related duties by efficiently managing the receipt of payments from students and third parties, and accurately entering them into Ivy Tech’s online systems, Banner and Workday.
  • Manage all returned ACH and NSF returned payments.
  • Responsible for the BankMobile Time outs report and any other reports that are requested for the job areas of Cash Management/Banking/Accounts Receivable
  • Responsible for reconciling daily cash drawer to Banner cashier report and correcting any discrepancies before closing out in Banner.
  • Manage the college vehicle fleet and ensure compliance is followed with all documentation for the fleet per college policy.
  • Review the refund report daily.
  • Run credit reports weekly and reconcile credit balances.
  • Help students with Touchnet payment plans and Bank Mobile questions. Maintains BankMobile relationships with both students and Ivy Tech by ensuring accurate records are sent between the two entities, refunds are handled properly, and issues are resolved.
  • Provide assistance and backup for the Accounts Receivable Business Office Assistant.
  • Other duties as assigned consistent with commonly accepted practices.

Starting Hourly Range: $15.00 - $17.50 based on skills, experience, and education

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma, GED
  • Two years’ experience in a related field.
  • Must have highly developed organizational skills and computer experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

Primary Role:
Provide professional administrative and operational support to the Schools of Health Sciences/Nursing and the Facilities Department. Purpose of Position:

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinate event setups across 10+ venue spaces including conference rooms, classrooms, suites, ballrooms, and auditoriums with precision in furniture layout, AV equipment, staging, décor, and signage.

Role Overview:

The nursing programs at all 18 campuses seek to hire RN tutors. The RN tutors will work with students in both the ASN and PN programs. The tutors will work with the students throughout the course of the program over the next three years. The intent is to assist students with both nursing course work and improve NCLEX-RN and NCLEX-PN pass rate outcomes. Position requires a sensitivity to, and understanding of diverse academic, socio-economic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of college students and employees.

THIS IS A PART TIME POSITION

  • Provide individual and group tutoring for PN and ASN students and graduates awaiting.
  • NCLEX testing by walk-in or scheduled appointments. These appointments will be either in person or virtual.
  • Create a professional and welcoming environment by modeling respect for students’ diverse cultures, language skills, ability and experience.
  • Provide subject-specific content to help students.
  • Clarify course content.
  • Utilize listening and questioning strategies as the primary tutoring method to diagnose student needs and monitor progress.
  • Recognize the different learning styles and student preferences.
  • Support students in the development of appropriate research and study strategies.
  • Use feedback and reflection to improve practice.
  • Recognize primary role to help students become more confident, more successful and self-directed learners.
  • Maintain and submit weekly reports of services provided.
  • Report to the Nursing Dean or designee information about student progress.
  • Associate degree in Nursing
  • Must have maintained a minimum of a 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher
  • Show sensitivity to the needs of under resourced and disadvantaged populations
  • Demonstrate ability to interact effectively with diverse populations
  • Must commit to working during our established campus hours, Monday through Friday 9AM-6PM.
