Ivy Tech Evansville seeks an Academic Advisor to provide developmental academic advising for new and continuing students using a case management approach. This role will assist students in defining personal and academic career goals, interpreting and understanding placement scores, program curriculum and pre-requisites, and developing basic skills to register for courses, as appropriate. The Academic Advisor will refer students to appropriate internal and external resources that foster student success.

Hiring Range:

  • This role is budgeted between $40,000 and $45,000 per year.

Work Hours:

Minimum Qualifications:

  •  Bachelor's degree in education, psychology, counseling, social work, or related fields.
  • Three (3) years of experience in academic advising, admissions, career counseling or related higher education area is required or one (1) year of experience    

Preferred Qualifications:

  •  Master's degree in college student personnel, higher education, counseling psychology, or related discipline is preferred. Community College experience or credential preferred

Academic Affairs Support Specialist

In addition to providing operational oversight and administrative support for assigned academic schools, the Academic Affairs Support Specialist will support deans and program chairs in retention and completion initiatives. Responsibilities will encompass a wide range of tasks, including communication with faculty members, program development, scheduling, budget management, and implementation of institutional policies and the supervision of the day-to-day operations of the schools. This position will help facilitate seamless collaboration between all areas of campus. Salary Range: $45,000 - $50,000 (based on education and experience)

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist both full-time and adjunct instructors in accessing materials and resources.

  • Assist in procuring relevant items for programs and maintain records consistent with College and program accreditation standards.

  • Provide general administrative support for assigned academic schools.

  • Complete course building within College platforms for each academic term. Make ongoing updates or changes as requested from program chairs and/or deans.

    • Update completion guides as needed.

Apprenticeship Enrollment Coordinator

  • Process applications for new  Building Trade apprentices and journeypersons.

  • Data entry into relevant Ivy Tech systems for the  Building Trade Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (JATC) program student enrollment for degree and certificate programs.

  • Responsible for student recruitment by identifying high school juniors, seniors, or graduates who are college-bound.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
