Ivy tech Evansville seeks a Student Liaison to support the School of Arts, Science, and Education. This role provides quality advising support to students and faculty regarding advising logistics. Participates meaningfully in student retention and completion initiatives. Supports the college’s mission and strategic plan initiatives. Collaborates with faculty, staff, and the Academic Advising Center to support student progress and retention and completions.

Essential Responsibilities:

 Advising support, Student Retention and Success

  • Communicate with students and faculty to schedule advising appointments Update faculty advisee assignments each 8-week term
  • Provide academic-related coaching and monitoring to students in partnership with SASE faculty.
  • Organize, promote, and assist in student recruitment, retention, and successful completion of academic programs in the School of Arts, Sciences, and Education including outreach to students by phone, technology tools, and other electronic means.
  • Provide interventions for students when necessary by communication, access to tutoring and other academic supports, and referrals to appropriate college resources.
  • Assist students and faculty in interpreting and understanding placement scores, program curricula, and pre-requisites.
  • Assist student’s understanding of the College’s registration processes that need to be completed prior to the beginning of each semester. Maintain current knowledge of the institution’s academic programs, curricula, and academic and student policies.
  • Assist students and faculty with student SAP appeals, degree audits, student account holds, change of academic programs.
  • Create and maintain student notes in Ivy Connect (or current CRM). Demonstrate a strong student advocacy through a positive attitude of approachability, adaptability, strong problem-solving and desire to identify and support student success.  
  • Engage in behaviors that create an inclusive environment in which all people are valued, supported, and respected.  

Professional Development

  • Actively participate in professional development opportunities and professional organizations, as well as college-wide committees, etc.
  • Stay current in digital technology and other technology that best support student retention and success

INSTITUTIONAL SUPPORT

  • Provide institutional support as requested by college administration such as participation on committees and task forces, projects related to student success.
  • Participate in college/campus-wide meetings and school meetings.

ENROLLMENT MANAGEMENT

  • Determine and lead action steps positively impacting retention

HIRING RANGE

  • This role is budgeter between $16.00 and $17.00 per hour.

WORK HOURS:

  • This role will be scheduled Monday-Friday during normal business hours.

Minimum Qualifications

Possesses an earned Associate’s degree in a discipline included or related to the School of Arts, Sciences, and Education.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a discipline included in or related to the School of Arts, Sciences, and Education or higher education. Community College experience Experience with student advising Experience with student coaching and mentoring Experience with Microsoft Office
