This position provides customer service to students seeking and receiving financial assistance. The position under the direction of the Director/Assistant Directors of Financial Aid will assist in the daily operations of the financial aid office.

Major Responsibilities:

Assist with regional financial aid operations which include:

  • Assisting Enrollment Specialists
  • Counsel & assist student with filing FAFSA.
  • Assist students/parents through verification processes.
  • Assist with document imaging.
  • Provide customer service and clear communication to students and parents on aid processes.
  • Advise current and prospective students/parents regarding the availability of and application processes involved with obtaining various forms of financial aid.
  • Assist in the maintenance of electronic student files.
  • Assist in monitoring standards of progress for all students receiving financial assistance.
  • Assist in the application, tracking, processing, awarding and disbursement of student aid for those students who qualify, including support to various departments within the college.
  • Assist with loan application processes and disbursement.
  • Process paperwork required by various sponsor agencies such as SNAP, Work One, Vocational Rehabilitation, and Veteran's Affairs.
  • Manage Satisfactory Academic Progress appeal processes.
  • Assist with Federal Work Study Program and placement of students in open positions.
  • Communicate with Systems Office financial aid team members.
  • Other duties logically associated with the position.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must be able to work independently with minimal direction with ability to assist students with concerns. Must be exceptionally dependable. Must have the ability to multi-task, be meticulous, organized, and able to adjust to rapidly changing situations.

Must not be in default on an education loan or in overpayment of a federal grant or loan

Preferred Qualifications:

Associate degree preferred or significant financial aid experience.
