Location: Must be available to work at either of the three campus locations: Crown Point, East Chicago, & Gary
Pay: $15.00/hour
General Duties/Responsibilities:
• Assists students and faculty with library resources in all formats, including books, journals, audio-visual resources, and the online library resources.
• Provides computer help for Windows software programs, and other main applications.
• Provides assistance with Ivy Tech’s portal MyIvy, and its learning management system, IvyLearn.
• Assists users with basic technical support questions regarding equipment, such as the library computers, printers, copiers, and the print management system.
• Charges and discharges library materials to patrons using the library’s circulation system.
• Assists in shelf management of the various material formats, and in sorting of mail.
• Does other duties logically associated with this position as determined.
Possible Duties/Responsibilities as apportioned among staff:
• Gathers and reports in-library usage statistics
• Shares collection duties for overdue materials
• Maintains library supply stocks
• Assists with technical services end-processing of new materials
Minimum Qualifications:
High School diploma or Equivalent required.
Proficient at typing and computer skills; has knowledge of various software packages, such as Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, and ability to use applicable computer hardware. Show evidence of strong customer service and approachability. Able to work independently and be a team player. Possess excellent oral and written communication skills and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate degree in the library, computer, or related field, with some library experience preferred.
