The instructor for the CompTIA A+ Certification Preparation plays a vital role in equipping students with the foundational knowledge and practical skills required to succeed in IT support roles and achieve CompTIA A+ certification. This skills training course emphasizes real-world troubleshooting, hands-on training, and exam readiness. The instructor fosters a supportive, engaging learning environment aligned with Ivy Tech Community College’s mission of providing accessible, high-quality education that prepares students for in-demand careers in information technology.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging instruction aligned with CompTIA A+ certification objectives in an interactive online synchronous format.
  • Plan and prepare lessons, assignments, and lab activities to reinforce core IT concepts, including hardware, software, networking, operating systems, and troubleshooting.
  • Provide hands-on training and simulations that mirror real-world IT support scenarios.
  • Monitor and assess student progress through formative and summative assessments; provide timely feedback and academic support.
  • Assist students in preparing for both Core 1 and Core 2 A+ certification exams, including test-taking strategies.
  • Utilize technology-based teaching tools, including the Canvas LMS, for instruction and course management.

PAY RATE:

·        $45.50 per contact hour

Qualifications

  • Possess a CompTIA A+ certification (Core 1 & Core 2).
  • Demonstrated professional experience in IT support, help desk, or related technical roles.
  • Familiarity with instructional technology and online learning platforms.
  • Adaptable in teaching approaches to ensure student comprehension and engagement.
  • Skilled in mentoring adult learners and supporting diverse learning styles.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
