About the Role:
The Senior Success Coach provides proactive, holistic coaching to support student persistence, engagement, and completion. Success Coaches utilize coaching strategies, early intervention, and coordinated outreach systems to help students develop the skills, behaviors, and resource connections necessary for academic success.

Each Senior Success Coach maintains an assigned caseload aligned by academic school and serves as a functional lead for a designated initiative area (e.g., onboarding, workshops, pathway support, or academic interventions).

Required Skills & Competencies:

  • Student Coaching & Development – Ability to guide students through goal setting, accountability, and skill-building using coaching practices that address common barriers to persistence and course completion.
  • Early Intervention & Case Management – Ability to monitor alerts and student engagement data for an assigned caseload to identify early indicators of challenges and deliver timely outreach, support, and referrals.
  • Communication – Strong written, verbal, and group facilitation skills
  • Relationship Building – Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, and campus partners
  • Problem Solving – Ability to assess complex student situations, identify barriers to success, and apply problem-solving strategies to connect students with appropriate support and solutions.
  • Data & Systems Proficiency – Ability to utilize student success technologies and reporting tools to manage outreach, analyze trends, and create student-facing materials (e.g., CRM/alert platforms, texting systems, LMS/IvyLearn, Tableau dashboards, Canva)
  • Project & Time Management – Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Equity & Student-Centered Practice – Commitment to supporting diverse student populations

Key Responsibilities:

All responsibilities will be conducted within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), other applicable regulatory requirements, and professional standards.

  • Provide individualized success coaching and regular check-ins
  • Assist students in developing study skills, time management, and college navigation strategies
  • Connect students with appropriate campus resources and services
  • Monitor and respond to IvyConnect alerts and outreach indicators
  • Document student interactions and outcomes
  • Collaborate with faculty and staff to coordinate support
  • Facilitate workshops and group learning opportunities
  • Contribute to retention and persistence initiatives
  • Participate in professional development

Education & Experience:

Qualifications -

  • Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, psychology, student affairs, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends to accommodate student schedules and campus events.

Additional Skills/Responsibilities -

  • Coordinate onboarding and orientation programming (e.g., NSAO, Survive & Thrive)
  • Maintain orientation materials and standardized messaging
  • Lead IvyLearn, texting, email, and EdSights onboarding campaigns
  • Monitor early-term engagement indicators and conduct proactive outreach
  • Track first-term persistence metric
