Serve as support to Student Life and functions related to extra and co-curricular activities, student organizations and student engagement. Serve as the first point of contact for internal customers who are seeking assistance from Student Life. Maintain good public relations and a professional image for the services, events and activities that are provided through the department.

• Project a professional image by consistently following company dress code and presenting a courteous, respectful demeanor.

• Uphold and assume the Ivy Tech Muncie mascot brand, image and persona.

• Assist in Student Life events, marketing campaigns and promotions, character appearances (Mascot), guest and student interactions and photo opportunities.

• Maintain the Mascot costume, ensuring it remains in good condition and is clean and safe for each performance.

• Assist with the planning, marketing, and facilitation of student life events, meetings, and conferences including facility reservations and set-up, vendor arrangements, catering arrangements, audio-visual requests, reservation lists, attendance tracking.

• Create Student Life printed and electronic materials and submit to Student Life staff for approval.

*Change out Stall Street Journals in the bathrooms at each Muncie Campus location.

*Change out flyers from flyer holders as events have ended around the Fisher Building.

• Assist with maintaining IvyLife student life portal, including event creation, marketing posts, event participation (attendance).

*Maintain the Expo Calendar outside of room F104.

• Maintenance of supplies, and materials in Student Life, including Student Life lounge space areas, Student Life office and storage closet(s).

• Work collaboratively with other internal departments and faculty to market and implement appropriate programming and activities
• Other duties as assigned

To Qualify for our Federal Work Study program students:

 Must be authorized to work in the United States

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Students must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours each semester.
• Students must be making Satisfactory Academic Progress as determined by the Financial Aid Office.
• Students must have a current and completed FAFSA on file.
• Student must demonstrate financial need.

• Must be current student in good standing with 12 credit hours accumulated Ivy Tech courses. Must be currently enrolled for minimum of 6 credit hours.

• Intermediate computer knowledge for applications like email, word processing, internet, spreadsheets, audio visual, zoom, voicemail applications.

• Excellent Public and Interpersonal Communication Skills, and ability to work collaboratively as a team player.

• Must be a Self-Starter with Self-Motivation –Has the ability to effectively work independently with little to no supervision.

• Has the ability to complete projects in a timely manner.

• Understands or has the ability to learn and adhere to Ivy Tech policies relating to Risk Management, Academic Standards, Finance, and Student Code of Conduct.

• Experience in event planning, organization, marketing, or visual communication a plus.

• Must be capable of standing, bending, reaching, and lifting items up to 40 pounds throughout the workday, with or without reasonable accommodation.
