Work-Study positions are federally funded, part-time positions. These positions are located on campus, internship-type positions are available for general office support, lab and technology support, and tutoring. They also require clerical, computing, and telephone skills. Each position will have a specific set of responsibilities will be explained during the interview process.
The Learning Center Computer Attendant provides front-line support for students, faculty, and staff using the library’s computer lab. The attendant ensures a welcoming, organized, and productive environment by monitoring lab activity, assisting users with technology, and upholding library policies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assisting users with logging in, printing, and basic software questions
- Assisting with keeping the Learning Center clean and organized
- Monitoring equipment and reporting issues
- Providing friendly customer service and enforcing Learning Center policies.
- Possibly assisting with the Ivy Tech Muncie ‘Literacy On All Levels Space’ equipment/ cataloging on occasion.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must be eligible for Federal Work-Study.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware, software, and printing.
- Reliability, punctuality, and ability to work independently.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and procedures.
Work Schedule:
Flexible hours during Center hours, though 11 am – 1 pm are preferred.
Compensation:
Hourly wage according to institutional work-study guidelines.
