Ivy Tech Community College’s Testing Services provides exam administration and related services to prospective students, current students, community members, businesses and other groups throughout Indiana.
Our mission is to operate as a world-class test center network providing high-quality, demand-driven testing services to prospective and current students, employers and the local community. Testing Services supports outcome measurement by providing an opportunity for students and the workforce at large to validate skills, knowledge learned and to obtain portable, industry recognized credentials. As a Proctor in Testing Services, you will ensure secure, accurate, and efficient administration of assessments and certifications both on site virtually and in-person. This role requires strong attention to detail, technical proficiency, and a commitment to delivering high-quality service to students, community members, and external clients. You will work closely with the Testing Center Director and Assistant Director and collaborate with colleagues across the statewide Testing Services network.

Key Responsibilities & Outcomes:
The following is not to be construed as an exhaustive list. Other duties logically associated with this position may be assigned. All responsibilities will be conducted within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), other applicable regulatory requirements, and professional standards.
- Administer exams and certifications in accordance with vendor requirements and Testing Services procedures.
- Conduct on-site virtual testing during peak academic testing times as well as onsite in-person proctoring.
- Maintain exam security, confidentiality, and academic integrity at all times. According to ASOM 4.7 and Testing Services Procedure Guide
- Schedule, approve, cancel, and update appointments using the statewide scheduling system (CASS and SmarterProctoring).
- Provide basic troubleshooting for hardware and software, escalating as needed.
- Support the Testing Center Director and team with scheduling, site coverage, and operational needs.
- Develop and maintain knowledge of all exams, materials, procedures, and accommodations.
- Demonstrate professional conduct and provide high-level customer service at all times.
- Attend training sessions and staff meetings, reviewing updates and materials as required.
- Follow FERPA, ADA, DSS, and other confidentiality and regulatory guidelines.
- Document and report non-compliant behaviors and maintain accurate records.
Other Requirements:
**Current Ivy Tech Community College students cannot be considered for this position due to access to exam materials.**
- This position will conduct on site virtual and in person proctoring.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to communicate requirements clearly are required.
- Proctoring is offered Monday – Saturday, with daytime and evening hours available.
- The primary location is downtown Indianapolis Campus location (50 W. Fall Creek Pkwy. North Drive, Indianapolis, IN 46208)
- Occasional travel to other sites as needed.
Education & Experience:
Minimum Skills:
- High school diploma required
- Working knowledge of computers is essential – excellent word processing, navigation, and spreadsheet computing skills are required.
- Must exhibit excellent interpersonal communication, telephone, confidentiality, and customer service skills.
- Flexibility and the ability to multitask.
- Active sitting, standing and walking within the office area.
- Infrequent lifting and bending.
- Requires the ability to interpret and understand complex assessment instructions, to use problem solving techniques as they arise and reason to make decisions.
Preferred Skills:
- Associate degree or higher.
- Experience in education (k-12, higher education) or private sector (academic or certification testing) preferred.
- Prior exam proctoring experience
Work Schedule & Location:
- Part-time, 20–26 hours/week, with flexible options including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
- Primary location: Downtown Indianapolis Campus (50 W. Fall Creek Pkwy. North Drive, Indianapolis, IN 46208).
- Occasional travel to other Indianapolis testing center sites
