CompTIA Security+ Certification

This intensive, class will prepare students with the competencies required to sit for the CompTIA Security+ certification exam.

CompTIA Security+ is a global certification that validates the baseline skills needed to perform core security functions and pursue an IT security career.

Students need to have a basic understanding of computer systems and network infrastructure either through previous classwork or job experience.

Students who successfully pass the CompTIA Security+ certification may receive course credit for CSIA 105 and 106 (4 credits total)

Biomanufacturing Technician Apprenticeship Program

Are you ready to start your journey in a career in the life science industry? If so, the Biomanufacturing Technician Apprenticeship program will focus on key skills you need to take the next step. Over the course of a three-week program, you will gain knowledge and hands-on experience in specific skills outlined by area employers. Coursework focuses on several aspects of being a bio-manufacturing technician including safety, use of equipment, PPE & proper gowning techniques, and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).

Participants will:

  • Explore manufacturing processes to be better prepared for the workplace and develop required skill sets in the production of biopharmaceuticals and medical devices.
  • Discover work environments, products manufactured, and career advancement opportunities.
  • Experience how technicians use math and technology to complete tasks and document results.
  • Successful completion of the course will earn you a certificate and a direct interview with a life science company to start your apprenticeship journey!

Project Management

Project Management Professional (PMP®) Certification Preparation

Instructor-led Classroom Training

This course is intended for individuals who wish to obtain a PMP or CAPM (Certified Associate in Project Management) credential from PMI® (Project Management Institute). Prior to taking the PMP exam, PMI requires proof of 3+ years’ project management experience and 35 contact hour of project management education. However, this course can be taken by anyone who wants to learn the fundamentals of project management.

The Future of HR is SHRM–Certified

This intensive 12-week program combines expert instruction with the 2016 SHRM Learning System® for SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP, so you will learn faster, retain more knowledge and stay on track for success on the certification exam. The exam is taken separate from our course, but with instructor guidance.

Certified Clinical Medical Assisting Program

The Clinical Medical Assisting program is designed to prepare students to function as professionals in multiple healthcare settings. Medical assistants with a clinical background perform various clinical tasks including assisting with the administration of medications and with minor procedures, performing an electrocardiogram (EKG), obtaining laboratory specimens for testing, educating patients, and other related tasks. Job opportunities are prevalent with physician’s offices, clinics, chiropractor’s offices, hospitals and outpatient facilities. The class includes 140 hours instructional time over 14 weeks, plus an exam administered by the National Healthcareer Association.

ServSafe Manager

The ServSafe program is the restaurant and food service industry's leading food safety training solution. Ivy Tech offers this course in two, half-day sessions. It is designed to meet the requirements to pass the certification exam for food handlers.
