Ivy Bridges (United Way Empowering Employment Grant)
Training Programs Offered:
Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Fundamentals & Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
What is it?
IvyBridges is designed to assist unemployed or underemployed community members obtain the training they need to gain employment. The program will provide support services while the student is working on their credentials, and then bridge the final gap between completing the credential and obtaining stable employment.
What does it cost?
The program offers participants a flat enrollment rate ($500).
How long will it take?
Classroom training will be completed in four weeks and on-the-job training in four weeks following their course completion.
Other perks and support:
While students are participating in the IvyBridges program, they will be offered the full support of Ivy Tech wraparound services, including: access to our on-campus free meal program, food pantry, free mental health care, tutoring services, transportation assistance, priority childcare access through our on-campus child care facility operated by CAPE, on-campus access to the Ivy Tech fitness center, access to financial literacy training, and emergency funding assistance. Students will also have access to our Career Coaching and Employer Connection (CCEC) office, which will provide training and preparation in soft skills, interviewing, and assistance with securing employment both while they are students and for life after that.
