Ivy Tech Community College; Changing Lives
Home Energy Conservation Program Contractor Training

Welcome to Ivy Tech's Home Energy Conservation Program Contractor Training. Thank you for your interest in working with this program to help low-income households throughout Indiana conserve energy. This training is offered through the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority (IHCDA) at no up-front cost to you. The goal of this training is to provide several thousand contractors throughout the state the skills necessary to apply advanced weatherization and energy conservation techniques on a variety of homes. Only those individuals trained through an IHCDA- approved program will be eligible for work with the Home Energy Conservation Program providers.

Please understand that in order to ensure the quality of work in every home as well as the safety of every client, we are asking that every individual working on a Home Energy Conservation Program home go through the IHCDA training and undergo a background check prior to being eligible for work. The process for beginning the background check and registering for a class near you is identified below. Once you have completed the background check form and registered for a class, you will be notified within 7 days of your registration if you are approved to take the course. Courses will fill up quickly, so please check all available courses within your area. We look forward to seeing you in the classroom.
