Ivy Tech to Host 15th Annual Matter & Motion Event Saturday

Ivy Tech Community College announces that it will host the 15th annual Matter & Motion community event THIS Saturday, March 21, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Ivy Tech's main campus in Terre Haute, 8000 South Education Drive.

The family-friendly event is free and open to the public. It will feature exhibits, educational activities and games designed to highlight technology, education, science and health programs at Ivy Tech. Youth will enjoy creative activities such as x-raying their favorite toy and learning how to make slime. Community organizations will also be participating in the event. 

Free family/children's activities and demonstrations will include:

  • A teddy bear clinic where medical personnel can give your teddy bear a ‘check-up’
  • Fingerprinting by the Vigo County Sheriff’s Department
  • Exploring a surgical environment
  • Lemon races
  • Riding a virtual roller coaster
  • Making a butterfly feeder and harmonica
  • Petting zoo
  • The opportunity to play with puppies & kittens brought by the Terre Haute Humane Society
  • Balloon launch
  • Arts, crafts and coloring
  • Puzzles and games including a duck pond and fish bowl toss

Baked goods and food will be available for purchase.  Music from HI-99 and the WTHI-TV Weather Crew will add to the festivities.
