Sympodium and Podium
The Oakley Auditorium is equipped with both a Podium and a Sympodium. Each of these have built-in microphones that can pick up the speaker's sound even when not directly next to the speaker. The Sympodium is equipped with a computer that has Smartboard technology, a DVD/VHS player, a document camera, and hook-up cables conveniently placed for notebook computers.
Audio
In addition to the microphone in the Podiums, additional microphones will be provided upon request. Lavaliere/Lapel, Handheld Wired, and Handheld Wireless are all available for use along with microphone stands as needed.
Please request microphones ahead of time so that the audio settings me be adjusted prior to the event.
Audio files can also be used during events. If you plan on using audio files please let us know ahead of time how you plan on using them (i.e. cued audio, etc.). Also please let us know what file format the audio is as well as any other details about intended use. Please also keep in mind the "Fair Use Guidelines."
Lighting
Lighting can add the perfect addition to the audio and visual resources you may be using in the auditorium. The Oakley Auditorium has seven lighting schemes available that can be switched on cue. Below are two commonly used schemes.
Services and Logistics
In addition to using the Auditorium for an event, you may also have the use of certain areas in which you may set up for registration tables, space for food spreads, etc. In addition; tables, chairs, and meeting rooms can be reserved for use with your event. The Resource Development Office can assist you in planning and reserving facilities for your needs.
