Before your loan can be processed, the following eligibility requirements must be met:
Failure to meet the eligibility requirements will result in cancellation of your loan application and/or loan disbursements.
The Standard Disbursement Dates are as follows:
Students who apply for their loan ten (10) or more days after the semester begins, or those who need additional documents, may be subject to later disbursement dates.
Based on federal regulation, the amount a student can borrow each year is limited as noted below
Dependent Undergraduate Student
1st Year student $3,500
2nd Year student (31 plus earned credit hours) $4,500
Independent Undergraduate Student
1st Year Student $7,500
2nd Year Student $8,500
For periods of study shorter than an academic year, the amount you can borrow will be less than those listed. You may receive less than requested if you received other forms of assistance for your educational related expenses.
Student refund checks are not received on the disbursement dates. Your account is credited on the disbursement date. REFUND CHECKS SHOULD BE RECEIVED 7-10 BUSINESS DAYS AFTER THE DISBURSEMENT DATE, PROVIDED THAT ALL REQUIRED INFORMATION IS COMPLETE. If you have not completed Entrance Counseling or a Master Promissory Note with your current lender on OpenNet, you will be required to complete them during the application process.
