Urban Adventures in Science
Students do not get a lot of opportunities to work in groups, solve problems, and explore various schools of science. Students will network with a variety of professors from the school of education to gain knowledge of inquiry learning and enjoy a simulated space mission at the Challenger Learning Center.
Students will explore the impact of gravity, lift, thrust, drag and air pressure. Students will also assume the role of a mission specialist during the voyage at the Challenger Center. Scientific principles, problem solving, team work and leadership skills will be combined and applied in fun and unique learning opportunities.
Students entering the 9th and 10th grades (total 20 students)
