Summer Academy 2014

APPLICATION

We would like to welcome you to take a class on us this summer through the Ivy Tech Summer College Academy! The purpose of the Summer College Academy (SCA) is to provide current dual credit high school students the opportunity to take a course here on the Central Indiana Ivy Tech Campus. This scholarship program allows high school students to take one 3 credit hour course tuition free. The only thing you will be responsible for is purchasing your books and course materials. This is not a competitive award, but is limited to the first 100 students who apply and meet the requirements.

Students must be available to attend each class during the eight week session. Students are required to attend, along with their parents, a special orientation session this spring during which you will receive assistance in registering for your class.

The Summer College Academy has been designed for and is limited to students who have successfully completed a dual credit course in a Central Indiana high school and meet the prerequisite skills required for the summer course. Students who qualify for the SCA can choose any course that is a part of the Indiana Core Transfer Library (CTL).  The highly transferable college courses identified for summer 2013 include English Composition, Fundamentals of Public Speaking, Introduction to Microcomputers, Introduction to Psychology, Introduction to Sociology, and Introduction to American Government. Additional courses may be available, but must be approved by Ivy Tech staff.

Applications must be received or postmarked by Thursday, May 1st. Applications can be faxed to 317-921-4550, emailed to skesler3@ivytech or mailed to the K-12 Department.
