“I was laid off from my job about the time I was almost finished with my studies at Ivy Tech. I sent out resumes and was lucky to get a call from Mead Johnson about a job they advertised after I had sent the resumes out; the timing was incredible. I was interviewing for an hourly job but they ended up offering me a salaried position. I later got promoted to pricing supervisor and then promoted to my current job, a brand-new position -- all in a year and a half. I always give 110 percent; I have a goal to keep moving up. As a single parent, I want good pay and benefits to take care of my family. In my job as Credit Analyst I’m a manager working with IM, Electronic Data Information and other teams. I now have a bachelor’s degree from Oakland University. Ivy Tech was a huge help to my career; it got me where I am today. I loved the faculty, especially Karen Gore and Jeannie Deanner, and the classes were great.”
