CISCO Certified Network Associate (CCNA) The impact of the Internet on society continues to grow and change the way we teach, learn, gather information and do business. The Cisco Systems program trains students for networking careers with over 280 hours of instruction. Workers with CCNA certification are well qualified for positions in organizations requiring network support engineers.

A+The Computing Technology industry Association (CompTIA) has developed two of the most in demand technical certifications available, A+ and Network +. These certifications were designed to be “vendor-neutral.” Skills learned include basic networking, operating system installation and configuration, printer configuration and repair and basic installation, configuration and troubleshooting of desktop and portable computer systems. A+ is equivalent to six months of on-the-job experience in computer service.

Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE)The Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer certification is designed for computing professionals who design, install and support networking solutions based on the Windows @ 2000 desktop or server software. MCSEs may also be involved in the installation, configuration or maintenance of the network file, print, database and messaging services, a company proxy server or firewall, desktop management and web hosting.

Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP)The Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) credential is for individuals who have mastered the skills necessary to implement a Microsoft product or technology as part of a business solution in an organization. Hands-on experience with the product is necessary to successfully achieve certification.

Certified Novell AdministratorCertified Novell Administrators provide network administration services in a variety of work settings. CNA training provides a strong foundation in network administration and is the first step in a professional certification path that leads toward the Certified Novell Engineer (CNE) or Master CNE certification.

Network +Network+ measures the technical knowledge of technicians in the networking industry. Network+ technicians have an understanding of the different types of network topologies and protocols, the OSI Reference Model and the services associated with the major network operating systems including Unix, Microsoft and Novell.

Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) The Microsoft Office User Specialist (MOUS) program is the only comprehensive certification program designed to validate desktop computer skills using Microsoft Office applications. The MOUS program verifies computer literacy, measures software proficiency, improves office productivity and identifies opportunities for skills enhancement.

Certified Novell Engineer (CNE)CNE training provides the skills necessary to deliver networking solutions to employers and customers. Among the skills learned are network planning, installation and configuration, performing system upgrades, improving network printing performance and managing network databases. A NetWare 5 CNE candidate must pass five required written exams and one written elective exam.
