TEAS Information

The TEAS admission test is the examination utilized by both practical nursing students and the registered nursing students. The TEAS test measures your ability in four categories: Reading, English, Math, and Science. The test takes approximately 3 hours to complete. An optional study guide is available in the book store. The cost of the TEAS test is $35.00 (non-refundable, non-transferable, price may increase without notice). You must bring a photo ID to be admitted to the testing session. No calculators permitted. All testing sessions begin at 9:00 am; plan on arriving 15 minutes prior to testing time.

Register early, seating is limited and additional sessions will not be scheduled. The TEAS test can be taken no more than 3 times in a two (2) year time frame. Testing sessions must be at least 30 days apart and students must pay the fee each time they test. Scores from the TEAS test are valid for 2 years from the initial testing date.

Information Sessions

Every student applying for admission to the nursing programs must attend an Information Session. Program applications will be distributed during the sessions. This is the only opportunity students will have to obtain a program application. Students wishing to reapply to the nursing program will need to attend a second information session to receive an application and must follow the complete admission guidelines. Waiting lists are not kept. Students may attend Information Sessions at either Lawrenceburg or Madison regardless of the campus location they plan on attending.

Students have the opportunity to apply to each program. Class selection will be done separately. ASN Program will be selected first and the mail notifications sent. The second class selection process will then begin with a new set of applications. This process will assure that the most qualified individuals are chosen for each program.

LPN to ASN transition student selection:

  • Applicant must hold an unencumbered license as an LPN in the state of Indiana.
  • The same Selection Decision scoring process listed above will be utilized to rank-order candidates. If the Transition student is a graduate of the new curriculum ITCC PN program within the past two years, the score used for their original selection may be resubmitted or a new TEAS test may be taken.
  • Students who have graduated from ITCC on the old curriculum, those students beyond the two-year time frame on the new curriculum, and students who have graduated from an external practical nursing program will be required to take the transition course NSG 120.
  • Students who have not had a separate Pharmacology course in their Practical Nursing curriculum will be required to take NSG 106 Pharmacology as a pre-requisite.
