Program Admission Information
The TEAS admission test is the examination utilized by both practical
nursing students and the registered nursing students. The TEAS test
measures your ability in four categories: Reading, English, Math,
and Science. The test takes approximately 3 hours to complete. An
optional study guide is available in the book store. The cost of
the TEAS test is $30.00 (non-refundable, non-transferable). You
must bring a photo ID to be admitted to the testing session. No
calculators permitted. All testing sessions will be held in room
1265 at the Main Campus - Madison.
The TEAS test is given on Tuesday only. All testing sessions
begin at 9:00 am. Plan on arriving 15 minutes prior to testing time.

*Register early, seating is limited and additional sessions will
not be scheduled. The TEAS test can be taken no more than 3 times
in a two (2) year time frame. Testing sessions must be at least
30 days apart and students must pay the $30 fee each time they test.
Scores from the TEAS test are valid for 2 years from the initial
testing date.
Every student applying for admission to any of the nursing programs
must attend a mandatory information session. Each information session
will last for approximately 1 hour. All sessions are held on Monday’s
at 12 noon. Program applications will be distributed during the
sessions. This is the only opportunity students will have to obtain
a program application. Students need only to attend one (1) session
regardless of the program to which they are applying. Information
sessions will be held in Room 2230 at the Main Campus - Madison.

If the application date falls on a Saturday or Sunday, the application
will be due the Monday immediately following the application date
listed. All application packets are due in the nursing office by
5:00 pm on the date listed.
Scores from the NET examination are no longer utilized
in the admission process.
The TEAS may be taken no more than three(3) times in a two-year
period. Applicants must wait at least thirty (30) days to retest
and must pay the $30.00 fee each time. Exam scores will be valid
for two (2) years from the date of the initial TEAS test.
Students need to attend only one (1) information session (approximately
1 hour in length). The information session is mandatory and the
only opportunity the student will have to file an application for
admission to the nursing program. The admission policy/guidelines
will be presented during the session as well as an open question/answer
forum in which students can present questions to the program representative.
Cut-Off Scores for the TEAS test:
- Reading- 80%
- Science - 60%
- Math - 60%
- English - 70%
If the student fails to meet the minimum cut-off score for all
areas of the TEAS test, he/she will not be considered for the applicant
pool.
Applicants will be rank-ordered (highest to lowest score) and applicants
with the highest scores will be offered admission to the program
based on the number of available seats.
General Education Parameters:
In addition to the points earned from the TEAS test, students will
receive points from the general education courses they have completed.

TEAS retests will include all four test components listed above.
All components must meet the passing standards. Scores from multiple
tests will not be combined to met the standard.
Applicants will be rank-ordered (highest to lowest score) and applicants
with the highest scores will be offered admission to the program
based on the number of available seats.
All applicants to the nursing programs will be notified by mail
regarding program admission status.
STUDENTS HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO APPLY TO EACH PROGRAM. CLASS SELECTION
WILL BE DONE SEPARATELY. ASN PROGRAM WILL BE SELECTED FIRST AND
THE MAIL NOTIFICATIONS SENT. THE SECOND CLASS SELECTION PROCESS
WILL THEN BEGIN WITH A NEW SET OF APPLICATIONS.
THIS PROCESS WILL ASSURE THAT THE MOST QUALIFIED INDIVIDUALS ARE
CHOSEN FOR EACH PROGRAM.
PN-TO-ASN TRANSITION STUDENT SELECTION:
- Applicant must hold an unencumbered license as an LPN in the
state of Indiana.
- The same Selection Decision scoring process listed above will
be utilized to rank-order candidates. If the Transition student
is a graduate of the new curriculum ITCC PN program within the
past two years, the score used for their original selection may
be resubmitted or a new TEAS test may be taken.
- Students who have graduated from ITCC beyond the two-year time
frame as well as those students who have graduated from an external
NLNAC-accredited institution will be required to take a Transition
course.
- Students who have not had a separate Pharmacology course in
their Practical Nursing curriculum will be required to take the
3–credit ITCC nursing Pharmacology course as a pre-requisite.
The admission policy as well as other program policies including
curricular structure will be discussed during the information sessions.
An open question and answer session will be included in each information
session.
