| Why do we have to use student accounts? |
|
- Individual accounts allow you to have private network
storage space to save your homework files to. Other students
can’t access your storage space.
- This also helps eliminate the need for floppy diskettes
which can sometimes be unreliable.
- Faculty have access your network drive. This provides
an easy way to turn in homework.

| What is my Computer Username? |
|
- Your computer username is the same as your Campus Connect
username.

| What is my Campus Connect username? |
|
| The following people can help you find your Campus Connect
username: |

- Use the self-help tool on the Campus Connect homepage
to lookup your Campus Connect username. Access Campus Connect
at http://cc.ivytech.edu/
and locate the "Forgot Your Username" link.
Other sources to locate your Campus Connect username:
- Library personnel
- Network Administrator
- Lab Technician
- Student Affairs
- Your instructor

| What is my password? |
|
- Your initial password is your birthdate (mmddyyyy). After
the first successful login, you will be required to set
your own password. DON’T FORGET THIS PASSWORD!
- Note: password must be at least 8 characters and include
at least one number.

| What if I forget my password? How
do I reset it? |
|
- Submit a ticket here.
Password will be reset within 24 hours.
- Between the hours of 8am – 4pm Mon – Fri:
please go to room 46 for assistance.
- All other hours: please go to the library, locate the
General Access computer and follow the instructions posted
to create a help desk ticket to have your password reset.
This method does take a little more time, so please plan

| How do I log into a computer? |

- Type your username
- Type your password
- Select OK

| Where do I access my private network
folder? |
|
- The ‘My Documents’ icon on the desktop will
reflect your private network folder. Anything you save to
‘My Documents’ will be saved on your private
network folder.

| How do I access the files I need to
complete tutorials for various classes? |
|
- Double the My Computer icon on your desktop, or open Windows
Explorer
- Double-click the R: drive
- Locate your class folder (example CIS101), tutorial files
are within the class folders.
OR
- Locate and open the Student Files shortcut on your desktop
- Locate your class folder (example CIS101), tutorial files
are within the class folders.

| How do I log off? |
|
- Close all of your open files and programs
- Click Start, Logoff
|
| Who has rights to my network folder? |
|
- You have full rights of your own network folder, other
students do not have any access to your home folder
- All faculty members have full rights to your network
folder
- The Network Administrator has full rights to your folder.

| How long do my 'My Documents'
files remain ? |
|
- Student accounts are reset every semester, and with that
the previous semesters files are removed. They are however
backed up for a period of at least 2 semesters, so if there
is an academic need to retrieve any files, you may submit
a request.
