Safe Assign
SafeAssign is a tool integrated in the Blackboard system that allows faculty and students to identify content in student work which may not be cited properly or may have been used in another source. The Faculty Guide to Safe Assign provides in depth instructions on using SafeAssign.
In addition to this guide, the Faculty Quick Guide to SafeAssign and the Student Quick Guide to SafeAssign are both available.
SafeAssign provides two levels of assignment checking. The first level checks submitted papers against the Internet as well as articles in the ProQuest ABI/Inform Database. The second level checks papers against an institutional database of past work by Ivy Tech students as well as work by other students who have voluntarily submitted their papers to the SafeAssign global database.
