Pronto
Pronto is a communication tool that allows students and instructors to spontaneously meet live online at any time! Pronto is an instant messaging (IM) tool similar to AOL instant messenger, Yahoo instant messenger, and others. However, Pronto is Ivy Tech specific so you need to know only the user ID of the student, faculty, or staff to find them in Pronto. You can use the Ivy Tech White Pages (http://whitepages.ivytech.edu/) to find a user ID you don’t know. In other words, the Pronto username is the same username as the user's Campus Connect username. Passwords do not automatically sync, but the user is advised to set the Pronto password to the same password as Campus Connect account.

Pronto can be used with audio only, or audio with video.

To download/use Pronto, you must be a faculty member or active student!

To download:

  1. Log into Blackboard
  2. Select a course
  3. Select the Communication Page
  4. Scroll down until you see Pronto and click on Pronto
  5. The pronto website will open. From here you can download Pronto.
  6. New users will need to create an account. Follow the Getting Started section of the Student or Instructor guide above
