Whether you are seeking employment or employees, Ivy Tech Community College Career Service’s Job Zone can help.

Career Planing & Counseling
All students and prospective students are welcome to contact Cindy Hutcherson in the Office of Student Affairs for career and educational planning assistance. Guidance is offered in the areas of career planning, admission advising, educational transfer advising, and general program information.

Active Placement Program

Resume Writing Assistance
The CES office staff is available by appointment to critique an individual student’s or graduate’s resume, offer suggestions for improvement, and direct a student to positively identify skills needed for particular employment opportunities. This can also be accomplished through email, by contacting staff with a copy of your current resume. You can expect a reply within 48 hours.

Develop Interview Skills
Includes an interview skills booklet and mock interview software.

Classroom Presentations
Faculty are notified that staff from CES can be scheduled to present information on a variety of topics relating to careers and job search topics, which may be relevant to course content. Most presentations utilize PowerPoint for visual enhancement, and students are provided with booklets and other handouts designed for future use. Check with an individual instructor to see if your class will be planning to have a presentation this semester.

On Campus Workshops
Workshops on topics such as writing a resume, filling out applications, job search strategies, and interview techniques are commonly offered each semester on each campus for students who want information on these subjects before graduating. Sign up is usually required. Check with the CES office for the schedule of future workshops on campus.
