Applying to Ivy Tech is easy. Unlike other colleges and universities, we don't charge an application fee.

Steps to complete when applying at Ivy Tech:

  1. Feel free to visit your local campus and meet with an admissions counselor to learn what Ivy Tech can do for you.
  2. Complete an application online or print the application and submit to the Admissions Office.  Use the links to the right to request further information.
  3. Provide the following:
    1. If you have completed an Associate degree or higher from a regionally accredited college, request than an official transcript from the college or university be sent to Ivy Tech Community College;
    2. If you have attended a regionally accredited college, but have not completed a degree, an official transcript from that college may be submitted on which the date of high school graduation is indicated;
    3. If you are a high school graduate from a public, private, home school or correspondence school, download a transcript release form to request an official transcript with your graduation date and official signature and/or seal to be sent directly from your high school to Ivy Tech; or
    4. If you have a GED, submit an official GED report of passing test scores.*
  4. Complete the academic skills assessment, COMPASS, to decide which courses you’ll need to succeed at Ivy Tech. Your ACT, SAT or PSAT scores also may serve this purpose or college coursework less than 10 years old from a regionally accredited institution may be used.   5. Make financial aid arrangements.
  6. Register for classes.
  7. Attend a New Student Orientation.
*Those who did not complete high school can also attend classes for one year, pending the completion of a GED or their high school coursework. Students without a high school diploma or GED are financial aid eligible if they demonstrate Ability to Benefit (ATB).
