ACTIVE PLACEMENT PROGRAM

Who May Use This Service?

Services are provided to current students, graduates, and alumni of Ivy Tech .

Targeting new, or soon-to-be graduates, this program is a free referral service to job openings when employers contact the College for new, technically skilled employees.

All program chairs recommend that their students participate in this service, for they recognize how important it is for students to receive guidance and assistance while you are enrolled.

What You May Expect

Career and Employment Services will add you to the Active Placement files when you have completed and submitted an application form and current resume. Many students choose to include faculty recommendations, and schedule a mock interview session.

While CES does not find a job for you, it provides invaluable help to any student or graduate who will actively participate and realize the effort needed for a successful job search.

CES will offer the following services to students in the Active Placement Program:

• Direct referrals to employers seeking qualified applicants in your program area.
• Individualized counseling and assistance for effective job search strategies.
• Resume evaluation and suggestions for revision.
• Conduct a mock interview session for personal preparation.
• Maintain student credential file for distribution to potential employers.
