WARSAW, IND. (April 20, 2007) –Ivy Tech Community College-Warsaw has received a $6,000 grant from the Kosciusko County Community Foundation. The grant will provide stipends to Ivy Tech-Warsaw Computer Information Systems/Computer Information Technology (CIS/CIT) students who will provide technology services to local non-profit organizations. The stipend funds will be placed into an account to be used for tuition.
Services provided by the students will include general consultation, hardware and software upgrades on none critical systems, basic network setup, document digitization, Web site development, database/spreadsheet creation and limited application training.
According to Ivy Tech-Warsaw Executive Dean Randy Maxson, “Many local non-profit organizations are facing budget reductions. This project will provide much needed technology services to these local agencies while giving students valuable project management experience.”
