The first program, Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM), educates operations professionals on essential terminology, concepts and strategies related to demand management; procurement and supplier planning; material requirements planning; capacity requirements planning; sales and operations planning; master scheduling; performance measurements; supplier relationship; quality control; and continuous improvement. The second training program to be offered, Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), is a new industry recognized educational and certification program created to meet the rapidly changing needs of the supply chain management field. “The partnership between APICS-CIND and Ivy Tech is a prime example of what Indiana institutions can do to support economic development efforts throughout our state,” said Indiana Secretary of State Todd Rokita, who played a role in bringing the parties together for this initiative. “These educational and certification programs are the kinds of resources that help sustain existing businesses, attract new ones, and lead to the creation of good jobs for Hoosiers.” Dave Hinko, president of APICS-CIND, stated, “We are excited to be working with Ivy Tech to help individuals and companies become more productive. When it comes to supporting workforce development and continuing education across the state of Dr. Carol D’Amico, Ivy Tech executive vice president, stated, “Professional societies and their local chapters have unique advantages when it comes to administering certification review classes. By partnering with APICS-CIND, Ivy Tech will benefit from access to certified instructors, the best review materials, and a proven track record.”
