IVY TECH-NORTH CENTRAL SEES INCREASE IN ENROLLMENT
 
SOUTH BEND, IND. (Jan. 11, 2007) – Ivy Tech Community College’s North Central Region, with campuses in South Bend, Elkhart and Warsaw, saw an increase in enrollment for the spring 2007 semester as of the first day of classes on Jan. 8. The combined headcount, or the number of full- and part-time students, for the region’s three campuses increased by 9.8 percent with 5,224 students enrolled for spring classes. Full-time equivalent enrollment, a measure of the number of classes students are taking, increased by 11.7 percent.

The region’s South Bend campus saw a 5.4 percent increase in headcount. The Elkhart campus had a 12.4 percent increase in headcount. The Warsaw campus’s headcount had an 18.6 percent increase.

Statewide, Ivy Tech hit a record high for spring semester enrollment with 71,879 students enrolled as of the first day of classes. The college’s statewide total headcount was up 9.5% over the first day of classes last spring. Full-time equivalent enrollment is also on the rise, increasing 10.1% over last spring. The FTE number enrollment figure this spring is 40,083 meaning more students are taking more spring classes than ever before at Ivy Tech.
