| IVY TECH ANNOUNCES NEW LIBERAL ARTS PROGRAMS |

SOUTH BEND, IND. (Dec. 12, 2006) – The Indiana Commission for Higher Education has given approval for Ivy Tech Community College to offer a selection of liberal arts programs which includes two degree programs not previously available through the community college.
For the first time students will have an opportunity to earn associate degrees in Mathematics and Life and Physical Sciences from Ivy Tech. These programs were among six liberal arts programs approved by the CHE Friday (12/8). The degrees approved, scheduled to be included in the College’s fall 2007 course offerings, include associate of art and associate of science degrees in English and Communication, Life and Physical Sciences, Mathematics and Social and Behavioral Sciences. Students will also be able to earn associate of arts degrees in Foreign Languages and Humanities. These programs are structured to transfer to other colleges and universities towards the completion of a bachelor’s degree. Ivy Tech Community College is the state’s second largest public post-secondary institution. Ivy Tech has 23 campuses throughout Indiana. It serves as the state's engine of workforce development, offering affordable degree programs and training that are aligned with the needs of its community along with courses and programs that transfer to other colleges and universities in Indiana. It is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.
