Student Responsibilities
In order to comply with laws governing the G.I. Bill, it is your responsibility as a student to notify the Financial Aid Office of your enrollment status with Ivy Tech each term.
You must inform the Financial Aid Office when you:
Add or drop a class
Change your major, degree objective, or specialty
Change your address
Withdraw from College or stop attending
Receive an incomplete grade
The DVA will not pay for the repeat of satisfactorily completed courses, except under special circumstances.
If you do not make satisfactory academic progress and are suspended by Ivy Tech, your G.I. Bill benefits cannot be resumed until you have met the College requirements for reinstatement.
Your G.I. Bill may be terminated if you do not comply with the regulations stated above.

Chapter 30
Montgomery G.I. Bill -Active Duty
Persons who entered active duty after July 1, 1985, and had their military pay reduced by $100 per month for 12 months, qualify for this program. This is a non-refundable contribution.
These persons also must have served a minimum of two years, earned a high school diploma or its equivalent either prior to, or during the qualifying enlistment, and must have an honorable discharge.
Chapter 31
Vocational Rehabilitation Program
Eligibility for this program is determined by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. This program provides payment of required fees and a monthly allotment. Contact the regional Department of Veterans Affairs, Fort Wayne IN, (260) 421-1046.
Chapter 1606
New Montgomery G.I. Bill
Selected Reserve/National Guard
This program provides benefits for members of the Reserve/National Guard who enlisted, re-enlisted or extended their enlistment for a period of six years after July 1, 1985.
Chapter 1607
Reserve Educational Assistance Program
Reservists and National Guard Members who were activated or served on active duty after 9-11-2001 may be eligible for this benefit. Members must remain with their component to receive benefits. The entitlement is based on a percentage of the basic 3-year Chapter 30 rate.
Chapter 35
Dependents or Spouse of 100% Disabled or Deceased Veterans (Service Connected)
This program provides benefits for dependents and spouses of veterans who died or are 100% disabled due to service-connected causes.
