Video Conferencing:
The course is taught via two-way video conference system in real time at multiple locations. For example, the course instructor may be located in a class on the Elkhart campus, but also has students in South Bend and Elkhart who can see, listen, be seen, and heard via video system.
E-Learning:
E-Learning courses, also known as internet courses, are powered by Blackboard software available on the Ivy Tech web site. These courses provide students a great deal of flexibility, but also require a great deal of discipline and commitment. Students may log-on to class at their convenience.
However, students are still required to complete course work within a specific time frame determined by each instructor. Interaction between students and the instructor occurs through the internet. Students in E-Learning courses may be enrolled on any of the 23 Ivy Tech campuses located throughout the state and the course instructor may also be located on any campus.
Hybrid:
Hybrid courses are a combination delivery method using E-Learning (internet) and either video conferencing or traditional classroom meetings. Students enrolled in hybrid classes will have some of the same flexibilities associated with E-Learning, but will also benefit from having face-to-face interactions with their instructors.
