If you like activities that have to do with ideas and thinking ... enjoy work that involves practical, hands-on problems and solutions ... like to work with data and detail, then you should consider a career as a medical laboratory technologist or phlebotomist. Med lab techs perform laboratory procedures and use quality control techniques to aid in diagnosis, treatment and monitoring of patients. Phlebotomists draw blood from patients or donors for analysis or other medical purposes, assemble blood collection equipment, and reduce the fears of patients by explaining the process. At Ivy Tech, youll get the classroom instruction and practical experience in your chosen area that will make you successful on the job or in further education.
Ivy Tech is an open admission college; however, admission to the Medical Laboratory Technician Program is a selective admission process.
