Manufacturing Training Programs
Overview
Marketable skills in 16 weeks or less: Ivy Tech's Manufacturing Training Programs were created to achieve two objectives: to meet industry demand for trained workers, and to equip underemployed workers with the skills they need to get stable, well-paying jobs. Both are intensive, comprehensive programs designed to train students for entry-level positions in manufacturing in just 13 weeks.
Cost : $1,800 (includes all books and machine shop supplies) Ivy Tech offers these quality training programs at a very competitive price. Low-interest loans are available to assist with financing.
Convenient locations: With courses offered on the South Bend and Warsaw campuses, this training is just a short drive away for most students.
Community support and involvement: Area manufacturers partnered with Ivy Tech to ensure that programs meet industry needs and incorporate industry standards and practices.
Manufacturing Training Program-- South Bend and Warsaw
Curriculum: Provides students with 168 hours of instruction over a 13 week period. Topics include shop math; blueprint reading; measuring instruments; CNC; shop practice on lathe, mills and grinders; machine theory; and manufacturing systems and processes. Up to 15 credits can be applied toward an associate degree or technical certificate in Ivy Tech's Technology School.

Community support and involvement: In addition to area manufacturers, Northern Indiana Workforce Investment Board and its agencies support this program.

The Warsaw program was established at the request of local orthopedic companies to give students basic skills for an entry-level position within their industry.
